Howie Meeker

Sent: February 5, 2008
Received: April 4, 2008

Mr. Meeker, though in his 90s did not sign my index cards that I sent but did send three signed photos: one as a leaf, one postcard type thing listing his achievements in his career, with a photo of him coaching and a "The Kid Line II" photo, which I'm deciding on whether or not to send it to Vic Lynn. An awesome success and another for my Hall of Fame collection. Thanks to Mr. Meeker.

Mike Fisher

Sent: March 3, 2008
Received: March 25, 2008

I wrote to Fisher in a batch of mailings, one to each Canadian team, and he quickly signed my index card, personalized "Many Blessings Rob!" after his signature "Rom 12:12". Fisher is easily someone I have always looked up to while in the NHL as an open Christian, never denying it, never afraid to make it known, or talk about it in the media. Fisher also included a card in which he signed. Another great NHL success, hopefully more to come.

Indian Ice - Top Prospect, Spitfire Great!

Received: March 25th, 2008

Back in January a e-mail to Indiana Ice head coach Charlie Skodt turned into one heck of a success in the mail. Sent via UPS, Charlie Skodt got players John Carlson (projected first round pick), commited to UMass for 2009, Matt Hoyle, a ranked goalie commited to Harvard next season, and Ian Ruel, commited to Bowling Green for 08 or 09. All three have a good chance of being selected in the NHL Draft. They all signed 5x6ish pieces of cardboard, all personalized. Also Charlie Skodt, a Windsor Spitfire great included a signed business card, which is just as exciting as the rest.

Thanks to Mr. Skodt for providing these for me and sending them via UPS when it was not needed.

Darren Reid

Received: March 11th, 2008

Not a huge success by any account but I'd like to thank the Philidelphia Phantoms for including this signed 8X10 program insert for me in a fan pack. Played 7 games for the Tampa Bay Lightning in 05-06 after a decent career in the WHL.

Tuesday, March 18, 2008

Dion Phanuef

Sent: March 3, 2008
Received: March 18, 2008
Days: 15

An awesome success for my 2nd current NHLer ever, with Dion (well the Flames organization) sending a signed postcard in the place of my cards, but I'll take it. Thanks to Dion/the Flames front office staff for turning it around so quickly.

Harley Hotchkiss

Sent: February 5, 2008
Received: March 17, 2008

Another one for the Hall of Fame area of the collection. Hotchkiss is the man who brought hockey to Calgary and allowed for the team to become what it is today, while he still owns it. Thanks Harley.

Logan Pyett

Sent: January 15, 2008
Received: February 29, 2008
Days: 45

Another for them Team Canada Gold Quest. Pyett signed both index cards with inscriptions and included a handwritten note thanking me and hoping that it was what i was looking for, and that he was happy to sign my cards. Seems like an awesome guy. Thanks Logan.

Carey Price

Sent: January 4, 2008
Received: February 28, 2008
Days: 56

A day after being declared the Habs starter the rest of the season this beauty arrived with Carey signing 3/2, including his team issued post card to go along with my two index cards. Always nice to get a current NHLer quickly, especially one with so much potential and was sent to the AHL days after I sent. Thanks Carey.

Sunday, February 24, 2008

Drew Doughty

Sent: January 15, 2008
Received: February 21, 2008
Days: 37

Another autograph on the Team Canada Gold Quest. Doughty signed both index cards and included two "Thanks for your support" picture cards which I thought was a classy touch. Nice success of a Gold Medal winner and likely top 3 pick in the next NHL Draft.

Pierre Pilote

Sent: January 28, 2008
Received: February 20, 2008
Days: 24 days

Another Hall of Famer, another beautiful signature. I had heard through various avenues that Pierre had started charging for autographs but I got mine back in no time and personalized "To Rob, Best regards, Good luck in "SPORTS". Inscribed with H.O.F. 75 #3.

Mike Eruzione

via e-mail

Got this US Hockey legend once again thru e-mail after seeing that he was now sending out pictures instead of cards. An awesome guy for signing through e-mail and likely through the mail aswell. Signed with an 80 Gold inscription.

Sergei Fedorov

Won in Auction: February 22, 2008

Won an autographed 8X10 of Sergei Fedorov in a Wings jersey for 10 dollars in a silent auction. I didn't actually bid on it, but it was won in my name thanks to someone putting my name down, in the end I didn't end up having to pay, the other person did, but for $10 you can't go wrong with a Fedorov auto.

Monday, February 18, 2008

Edgar Laprade

Sent: February 5, 2008
Received: February 18, 2008
Days: 13

13 days and another Hall of Famer, Edgar Laprade, at the ripe young age of 89, signed 2 index cards for me, one personalized. It is awesome to see this men signing at such a age when it is difficult to get a lot of guys these days at half their age.

Dickie Moore

Sent: January 25, 2008
Received: February 18, 2008
Days: 24

Another Hall of Famer to the collection. Dickie Moore signed both of my index cards and added two signed cards and one unsigned card. A great success.

Andrew Cogliano

Sent: January 5, 2008
Received: February 18, 2008
Days: 44

My first current NHLer success, Andrew Cogliano, a member of the Edmonton Oilers, former Michigan Wolverine and Team Canada member. Always nice to add a current NHLer to your collection and hopefully the first of many.

Saturday, February 16, 2008

Jean Beliveau

Sent: January 25, 2008
Received: February 15, 2008
Days: 22

An awesome success from a true hockey legend, who signed and personalized 0/2 but included 2 cards of his own, which unfortunatly smeared and stuck to the index cards I included. I will be sending to Mr. Beliveau once again, and hopefully things turn out for the better this time.

Bert Olmstead

Sent: February 5, 2008
Received: February 15, 2008
Days: 10

A quick turn around from a Hall of Famer once again, Mr. Olmstead signed and returned 2/2 index cards, with awesome signature, personalized and HOF inscription. Thanks.

Monday, February 11, 2008

"Butch" Bouchard

Sent: January 25, 2008
Received: February 11, 2008
Days: 17

Another Hall of Famer, this time in the form of a Montreal Canadiens great Emile "Butch" Bouchard. Bouchard who was an outstanding player in his day, retired when my dad was one, which says a lot, as he is still signing greatly through the mail at the age of 88, signing 3/2 for me adding a card signed in silver sharpie. Thanks to Mr. Bouchard for his signature, thats another one of the Hall of Fame list.

Saturday, February 9, 2008

Marcel Pronovost

Sent: January 28, 2008
Received: February 8, 2008
Days: 12

Another Hall of Famer in the collection, Marcel Pronovost. This success also holds triple meaning being a Hall of Famer, a former Red Wing and a former Windsor Spitfire (though it may have been Bulldogs at the time). Pronovost still lives in the area, which is nice to see, sticking to the roots. Thanks to Mr. Pronovost for signing 2/2 for me and sending them back quickly.

Glenn Hall

Sent: January 28, 2008
Received: February 8, 2008
Days: 12

Another Hall of Famer in the collection, another of the best goalies to ever play in the game, Glenn Hall. This success holds triple meaning being a Hall of Famer, a former Red Wing and a former Windsor Spitfire (though it may have been Bulldogs at the time). Thanks to Mr. Hall for signing 2/2 for me and sending them back quickly.

Brandon McMillan
Dylan Hood
Riley McIntosh

With three excellent prospects and others in the mix, I am more thana happy with this success. Thanks to Tyler Myers for getting these for me.

Andy Bathgate

Sent: January 28, 2008
Received: February 6, 2008
Days: 10

Mr. Bathgate, inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1978, quickly (as it seems with all Hall of Famers) and signed neatly 3/3, including his number 9 on one of the cards. I wish all players had the turn around time of these hockey legends who likely get the same amount of mail as the current players. Thanks to Andy for his time and signature.

Tuesday, February 5, 2008

Henri Richard

Sent: January 28, 2008

Thanks for the beautiful signature, I suggest any Team Canada or Thrashers fans send to this guy while still in junior, great signer. Thanks Riley.

Thanks to Josh Bailey for getting these signed for me and going above and beyond.

Welcome...

Welcome to my site, it will be updated as often as I get new successes and hopefully that will be quite often. I send out requests mainly to junior hockey players and almost always get plain white index cards signed, though I may start expanding my horizons now that I am getting serious about the autograph collecting hobby.

Thanks for stopping by and here's to success for you and I!
